Busy, Busy, Busy

So it has been awhile since I last wrote, like Feb. I have a couple blogs in mind but I need to just take the time to sit and write them. SO much has happened since I wrote about my son. We have taken a few huge trips, one in March to Minnisota for a good friends wedding and one in May to Wisconsin, back to Northland, for my brothers graduation. We also had a youth activity in April to the Creation Museum. All of these trips have been different from each other and so good for our family. Tho it has put a real financial strain on us to take these trips b/c our income doesn't allow for any extras, they have been SO good for our family and times to reconnect. The trip in March was so fun to see old and new friends. It was an extremely long trip but one that we wouldn't of missed. Caleb and Julianne are true definition of a real honest to goodness friendship that will last for a lifetime.

What just happened to be a bonus about that trip was that we made the trip a day longer and instead of heading straight home, we went to my Grandparents house. I hadn't seen my Grandparents in a couple of years and my younger sister, brother-in-law, and their 5 month old son(at the time) was staying there too. I hadn't seen them in a year or so. I had yet to meet Dominic so I was very excited to see him for the first time!! My sister and brother-in-law are on deputation to go to Spain. I look up to them so much! Their love for the Lord and for the work/ministry, for the people in Spain, and their diligence and faithfulness is something I admire.

Our next trip was to the Creation Museum. We had never been and we were so exited!! We had about 7 teens go and the Michaels helped chap. The Michaels are a young couple in our church that we have really started to get to know and have SO enjoyed. Their desire to grow and get in Gods word is convicting to me. They have 2 little boys as well and are in the same stage in life as we are. We hope to continue getting to know them and grow that relationship. We drove down Friday after school and spent the night in a hotel so we could have the whole day on Sat for the Museum. I really loved how they told the gospel story starting from Creation. Using the 7Cs told the Story. If you have never gone, it is something you will want to put on your list to visit!! The bonus on that trip was that the day we were there, we walk in and see a sign that says "Ken Hamm speaking at 3pm"!! What are the chances that the founder and president of Answers and Genesis, creator of the Creation Museum would be there on the day we were there??? Apperently, very good! :-) lol The kids had a blast, they got literature in their hands, and really seemed intereasted! To us, it was a success, even with only 7 kids!!!

The last trip and most resent was this one in May. We headed to our Alma Mater to watch/witness my brother graduate, celebrate with him and my whole family, and revisit the place where me and Bryan met and fell in love!! We are so proud of Jeffrey, and as he moves on into life, we pray for wisdom, direction, and that he always seek to bring God glory, and be filled with His grace! Jeffrey's graduation was a huge time of celebration for our family! We hadn't been able to be all together for a couple of years. This was my parents last child to offically leave the nest. And as our family continues to grow and change, there is a constent need to reconnect and catch up! We had a great time being together, I probably can't say that enough! We moved our location from Northland to Illinois, to my Grandparents house. The whole group wasn't able to go there for mothers day, as my younger sister Juli and Scott took alittle vacation to celebrate their 5 year anniversary and my brother had to head to Utah for a wedding. It was really special for me that I got to spend this Mother's Day with my Mom, Grandma, and twin sister. All ladies that I care for deaply and look to and admire. The thing I always think when I think of my Grandmother is her servant heart. I have yet to meet someone that matches it!! Then my Mother is the glue that holds us all together! She is one of the wisest women I know, so full of insight, love, and passion, for her Lord and for others. She has been my guide and counselor, my confidonant(sp?) and my supporter. I respect her and love her till the day I die!! And then my twin! :-) She makes me laugh! I admire her greatly! I know I can always talk to her about everything in my life, there is no judgement. She has helped me in so many ways but alot of it is just telling me how it is and then loving me thru the process it takes to change! It was also great to talk to my Dad. He was a HUGE encouragement to us in many different ways. Can i just say AGAIN, we had a GREAT time together!! Thats all I can think of to catch up. Tho there were things inbetween those things, such as our daily life, Easter, a visit from my sister, a shower, and i'm sure I'm forgetting something. But I will write again soon.

P.S. I'm writting using a Blogger App and I'm not sure how this will work. Trying to put pictures with it but they might mess it up and it's not letting me put subtitles. So you have the privilage to figure out what is what :-) lol SO SORRY!!!!

  1. Wonderful to read a realistic and heartfelt account of what's been happening with your adventurous trips these past couple months. You value family, relationships, and growing in grace, knowledge and love toward others. No greater goals.
