Danny will be turning 4 years old on Febuary 19th, this Sunday. I remember it like it was yesterday, the thirty hours of labor. Exhausted emotionally and then rushed into emergancy C-section. So fearful for his life, so unsure of how to be a parent, and having so much love for someone I just met! I am one of those people who think that babies are gross when they come out, even about my own sons but after we got home from the hospital, 4 days later, he was a doll baby, with all his funny faces. How did I ever live without him?!!!

He is such a brilliant little boy. So many times in a day I find myself thinking things like, "Is he old enough to understand that" when he comes to me with a solution to a problem or can think thru intellagently a conversation we have had. He is really starting to explore his imagination, where literally everything has thoughts and feelings about everything. He is super sensative to every situation, wanting so much to please. He thrives on encouragement and praise. He still asks a hundred questions a day and I hope he never stops. He is a fabulous big brother. Always watching out for Aaron. If Aaron is upset about something, you can tell it is effecting Danny and he wants to make it better. Don't get me wrong, they fight almost every second of the day and I play referee more times than I would like to count, but when it counts, he is by his brothers side. He is curious about things he can't do yet, always pushing himself to the limit, good and bad. :-) He is my dare-devil and gives me a heart attack just about once a week, if not more. He remembers everything you tell him! He remembers people and places. Sometimes I have to be careful what I say or tell him cuz he will remember and ask me about it until it happens, he gets the item, or the next big event happens. He tells me he loves me several times a day. My biggest fear as his mother is that I will get in the way of the AMAZING man God is creating him to be. I know that God has big plans for him to further the gospel and to bring glory to Himself thru Danny's life. I pray that both him and I are sensative to it. Salvation is first and that is this mothers prayer everyday. I could say SO MUCH more about this boy who has filled my life and is a HUGE blessing to me. There seems to be knew things everyday. But that is all I can think of right now. Happy Birthday Big Buddy!!!
Ahhhh how sweet!!!!! I can't believe he is really turning 4!!!!! So sad that I will miss it, but will see him soon!!! :) I love you Daniel James!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED reading this and it just brought tears to my eyes! We can't wait to see all of you again (in May)!!!! I still remember the day Danny was born too and what an amazing day it was! I can't believe he is 4 already and I pray for his salvation every day! WE LOVE YOU, DANNY, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Grampie and Grammie!
ReplyDeleteJust read this for myself (Grandma Debbie) and I know I will be reading it several more times. It so beautifully expresses a mother's heart as only she can portray her son. I, too, well remember the day he was born and how special it was to share it with Trina. I also remember how quiet and reflective his Daddy was as he waited to join his wife in the delivery room. Daniel James Kurty brings a smile to my face and a leap in my heart when I see him or even think about him. I'm so glad he has you and Bryan for parents, as he thrives in the home you have both created. Happy Birthday, Danny!!!
