Back in Feb I wrote a blog for my first born son, Daniel, who was turning 4. I have been really wanting to do the same for my second son, Aaron, since he just turned 3. I was having a hard time feeling inspired to write. Not cuz I was going to write about Aaron but that I hadn't really sat down to think things out to do him justice and thinking how to get across Aaron to you. I have alot going on, in my head mostly, that it has been hard to concentrate. But here it goes, and it will be a tad different in that I'm not putting pictures of his three years but just his party.
Aaron is truly a one-of-a-kind kid (I know every mother thinks that about their children, so I guess he fits the mold)!! There is so much about him that I experience in a day. The unique thing about him is that he only lets certain people know his true personality. He is shy at first, staying close to Mommy, Daddy, and Daniel. His biggest desire is security, whether that be found in his Banky, or in the arms of someone he trusts. Their is a couple of sides to him, one being that he is very ornery. When he is comfortable with you, he very easily will talk back and argue with you :( Something that is a constant correction at this point :) But the many sides that I SO love and appreciate about his personality and character are these: He is cuddly, loving, giving, sensitive, quick to forgive and share, cautious, guarded, funny, ready with a smile and a laugh, and rambunctious!! He is different from his brother in many ways, but he is attached to him at the hip. Very rarely are they separated and we kind of like it that way. They don't function good without the other. Aaron is so attentive to the things I tell him and teach him. He is ready to learn and eager to be involved. He definitely does not like to be left behind!! As any parent would say, I don't know what my life would be without him cuz he has added SO much to it!! It is so interesting how each child will add a new dynamic to a family and enhance it as well! I think God intended it to be that way.
This past Sunday we celebrated Aaron turning 3. His actual birthday was on Monday, July 9th. We had it just be family cuz I'm really trying to not do huge parties, at least not right now. We also invited a family we are getting to know and love. Our boys get along with and love to hang out with their boys. Here are just a few of the party.

ReplyDeleteYour snapshots relating to the party are so full of the togetherness that your family exhibits. Your boys thrive in the environment of teamwork, forgiveness, loving acceptance and gentle guidance that you and Bryan model. It was a joy to read your description of your youngest son, written only as a mother could, and written with the love, insight and understanding of a godly woman who loves her children more than life itself. I love to watch you with them and see how bonded they are to their Mommy and how complete her love makes them feel. It's okay that you feel like you can't concentrate and are not necessarily in the frame of mind to write--cause you did it anyway and did it beautifully. We love you Jerelyn M. (Mayfield) Kurty.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great day for his party and I loved reading about Aaron and his personality. We were able to spend the first 9 months of his life with him, but since then, we haven't really been able to see his personality developing. We look forward to doing that this year! And, he is absolutely SO ADORABLE! We are so thankful to have Aaron as our grandson!!! Happy 3rd birthday, Aaron!
