Our 4th of July 2012

So I realize that this is very late, like over a week, but I have been wanting to write a blog about our holiday. I have been trying to think why I loved this holiday this year so much. In the midst of my chaotic life and the uncertainty about our future, I was able to disengage, relax, and enjoy family. It was so great to watch my boys play in the pool Grandma had gotten them, talk and catch up with Mom and Dad Kurty, Pap and Bill III, and enjoy good food! It seems to me that there wasn't anything a whole lot different than any other time that we all get together, except my perspective. We watched fireworks go off in the back of Mom and Dad's backyard cuz everyone around us was shooting them off. The boys loved watching them!! It was an encouraging time for this Mama.  


It was 95+ degrees that day, so they appreciated the pool!

    It was really a FUN and HOT day. We are the only family my Dad and nephew have here in town and it meant a great deal to get together with you all. If you think that just a few short months ago - 5 in fact - Bryan had to do the funeral service for his Grandma and Pap Rupp had to endure the searing loss of his wife, it gives a sense of why this ordinary picnic held such extraordinary warmth for us too. Thank you for sharing your family with us, B & J.

    So glad that you all had a great day! I'm glad that it was a refreshing time for you. You needed that! And the boys look like they had a blast in the pool! I really enjoyed reading about your day together.

Looking at this year

I'm not sure why but it seems to be this time of the year, the atmosphere, the emphasis, the joy, and perspective that is around this holiday, but I do alot of thinking back over the year. Catch Up: When the Unexpected Happens Part 2

I'm finally able to talk about all of it, all that God has worked through my heart up until this point--all the ugly, all the hurt, all the good, and all to His glory! My story isn't finished, but let me catch you up. I hurt! And I hurt bad with the loss.  I had opened my heart up to a new life, a new love.  This baby was precious to me already.  I struggled through understanding what God was doing.  Would He give us life only to not allow that life to develop?  But I never questioned why.  I had grappled through the sovereignty of God when we got pregnant, so it was easy to move that thought process over to apply to this.  I understood that what God does, doesn't always make sense or meet up with my plans, at least I thot I understood this concept.  Coming to grips that this baby was never mine, that in fact none of my kids are, was also something that became real to me.  That reality is a hard reality to accept as they feel so much mine, ...

Old School Style

My sister did this kind of a blog a couple months ago and kind of passed it on to me to do on my own blog. I had been meaning to get on a lot sooner to do this but, hey, at least I have time tonight to work on it.
