My Weekend with my Mum

My Sister had a Baby!!!!! Yay!!! He was born on Sep. 20th. Congratulation, Juli and Scott!! So, I tell you this because when one of us has a baby, my mother comes back to the states to help. My sister lives up in MN and we just kind of thot that seeing my Mom this trip back wasn't really an option. Part of it was cuz of my VERY old car. This car was only a 1993, but everytime I would leave the house, I would pray it to my destination and home again. It would make all kinds of noise and smells. I just never felt very safe :-) So it wasn't even an option to go visit my Mom. But just recently we were able to purchase a new car. That story is probably another blog post, so i won't get into that now. But i had to tell you about us getting a new car to finish the story. So you might say, But she was up in MN, were you going to drive there? No..., part of the plan when she comes back is to visit her Dad, my Grampie, who lives in Boston, MA. He is getting up in years, and we aren...

Swimming Lessons

When I joined the YMCA in our area, I knew they offered swimming lessons and I knew I wanted to get Danny into it. I just couldn't figure out when. This summer was busy and i knew we couldn't commit to several weeks in a row. But things slowed down in the month of Oct, at least during the week, the weekends are still busy. So, the first day was nervous and i could tell he was very unsure. I just kept trying to be excited. It was kind of funny to watch him try to match my excitment but then having concern written all over his face :-) He has done GREAT since the first day!! It has been SO neat to see him take this on and really have it become apart of his life. Ever since i was young, I have really enjoyed swimming! I wanted to give him that oppertunity. I have been swimming for as long as I remember. But I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to break it down enough for me to go back to the basics and teach him. Plus, some things are better taught by someone else. I didn...

Dishes.... Ugh!!!

Image
I think everyone has that one chore in the house that they hate to do. If you know me at all, you know it is dishes! I ablosolutly despise doing the dishes. I let them pile up for a couple of days before i do them cuz I just don't like doing them. I hate doing them so much that there are times when i will talk myself out of cooking or baking something cuz i just don't want to have to do the dishes after! I would rather clean a bathroom and do major spring cleaning before doing the dishes. But it just so happens that the dishes is something that HAS TO get done. It is one of those gross things if you let them go to long. So here are some pictures that show what my sink looks like at least everyday or every other day if i haven't been cooking. It's gross, I know! What can i say :/ There is something that you need to understand. I grew up in a very well kept home. My mother is the best home-maker and hostess i have ever met!! She kept a very tiddy house and did a go...

Additions

I debated whether to write this blog....or rather how to write this blog. I REALLY don't want to come across materialistic or that things are really important in my life. I hope you understand my heart and desire to be a good housekeeper, mother and just a desire to make my house nice for entertaining and to live in. I just want to tell about things that happen in my life and the little things that change or make up our life. That said... In the begining of August, we got professional family pictures taken by Kaila, super talanted and it was so fun! I was really excited to get them printed off and put around our house. It had been awhile since we had gotten family pictures and knowing Kaila's talant, i knew these would be exceptional! So getting them printed is one battle or process, getting frames that we can afford and for all the pictures i wanted and then having Bryan find the time to put them up, is a completely different battle. We went to Kolhs cuz i had some coupons, ...

Words to Describe Vacation

Image
Let me start from the begining. Last year, due to some circumstance in our church we were not able to take a vacation. We usually try to take it about the end of August or in September. Our summers are VERY busy with youth activities, VBS, Junior Camp, and Teen Camp, so the only time we feel we can relax is after all that is done. This year we made it a point to plan on vacation and work that into our very busy schdule. Not having vacation last year took its toll on us in everyway: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Needless to say, we needed it :-) We weren't sure what we were going to do cuz we are not able to save with our income, but with Bryan's side job, we were able to put alittle aside. Also my Auntie Nancy purchased a trailer in Mill Run about 6 years ago, for them of course, but she has made it available for people in ministry to use as a get away and to help with the cost. So, thats where we headed! I don't really feel like there is a whole lo...

The finger

Image
About a couple months ago i went to the dermatologist. I had some concerns about hair-loss, which turned out to be unfounded. While i was there, I asked him about this thing in my finger. Now, i have had this thing in my finger for as long as i can remember. I have always thought it was lead. Though i don't have any recollection of being stabed with a pencil, it is just what it looked like so thats what i always thought it was. Just resently, it has started giving me problems. It would hurt when i bumped it into something. Now this finger is the middle finger on my right hand, so you can imagine how much it gets used and how often i would find myself bumping it. So i had him look at it. He said it didn't look dangerous or like it was a problem but if it was bothering me and hurt me than he could easily take it out for me. So we scheduled the appointment for the 26th of Aug. Everything went fine. He did a very good job. Numbed my hand and i didn't feel a thing. He told me t...

Brothers and Best Buddies

Image
When i had Aaron, I did what i think most mothers of two boys do. Wonder how your two boys will get along, what it will be like, will they hate each other or love each other, etc. Well, Aaron is 2 now and it has been fun to watch how Danny, age 3, and Aaron's relationship has developed. The older they both get, the more they love to be together! I think, ever since Aaron started walking, they have become inseperable. They can't seem to function without the other. The more independent that Aaron got, the more Danny allowed Aaron to be apart of his world. Danny's imagination has exploded from anything to monsters, to giants, to exploring, to playing house, to my kitchen becoming a race track. I hope it continues to grow the more life experiences he has. Now Aaron has followed suite. Going on all the same advantures! They love to go into their room and read together and color!! Don't get me wrong, they are brothers! Everything is a competition, "I beat you!" And ...
