Let me start from the begining. Last year, due to some circumstance in our church we were not able to take a vacation. We usually try to take it about the end of August or in September. Our summers are VERY busy with youth activities, VBS, Junior Camp, and Teen Camp, so the only time we feel we can relax is after all that is done.

This year we made it a point to plan on vacation and work that into our very busy schdule. Not having vacation last year took its toll on us in everyway: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Needless to say, we needed it :-) We weren't sure what we were going to do cuz we are not able to save with our income, but with Bryan's side job, we were able to put alittle aside. Also my Auntie Nancy purchased a trailer in Mill Run about 6 years ago, for them of course, but she has made it available for people in ministry to use as a get away and to help with the cost. So, thats where we headed!
I don't really feel like there is a whole lot to tell. We just spent it as a family. Chilling in the trailer! We did do some driving some of the days. We hit some outlets near Pittsburgh, went to Morgantown WV, and hit up the mall in Uniontown. The boys absolutly loved the time with Daddy!! They couldn't get enough of him! He couldn't go anywhere without them right at his feet. One of the funnest things for me to watch was the boys interact with daddy. He loved the attention and the boys loved his attention :-) I have to say the highlight of our vacation was the night we roasted hotdogs and marshmellows. Daddy started the fire and you would of thought that he hung the moon the way the boys reacted. The were estatic, so excited to be apart of it. It was a special night to be huddled around the fire, eating hotdogs and listening to the boys chatter, telling Daddy all about their world. It was just great to have Daddy invlolved in our everyday activity, the routine stuff he misses out on.

Words to describe our vacation: Time, Love, Family, Memories, Laughter, Giggles, Relaxing, Naps, Driving, Shopping, Out-to-eat, Playing, Talking, Adventures, Kisses, and Hugs!
It was a wonderful, much needed time. We have great memories! I know i'm going to think of more stuff i could of wrote, more things i could of said, but this is the best way I could think of to explain it.

ReplyDeleteIt just brought tears to my eyes to hear how the boys interacted so well with Bryan. I'm sure this was a much needed time and I'm SO GLAD you were able to have this time together as a family.
